Counseling

Dignity Women's Center offers counseling as part of an effort to treat the whole person - mind, body, and soul for individuals, families, couples, and adolescents. Our counselors are members of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and strive to create an environment that is welcoming and non-judgmental.

NEW CLIENT INSTRUCTIONS:

We offer our intake forms online for you to print and fill out before your first appointment in order to make the best use of your time during your visit. If you are a new client, please print and fill out the "New Client Packet," "Informed Consent & HIPAA"

Our Counselor:

Amber Pilkington, M. Psy., LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Certified Anger Resolution Therapist

Amber Pilkington is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. She received her
Masters of Psychology from the University of Dallas in 2008. Additionally, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Catholic studies with minors in Theology and Philosophy.

She has worked for a year as a Mental Health Counselor at Menninger Specialty Psychiatric Hospital in Houston, Texas. She has also worked at Timberlawn Mental Health Hospital in Dallas, Texas on the inpatient trauma unit and for Immaculate Conception Church in Denton, Texas. She is excited about moving to San Antonio to work for Dignity Women’s Center. She has published an article and book review in "The Humanistic Psychologist."

Amber Pilkington has experience in integrating a client's spiritual beliefs into therapy. She provides a warm, non-judgmental environment for exploring all areas of your life. If you are looking for one of the few Catholic therapists who have a degree not only in Psychology but also Theology, Amber Pilkington would be happy to help you.

If you need to reach a physician please call the office and you will be directed to our answering service and on call physician.


Fees & Insurance

Our counseling fee is $90/session (45-50 minutes).
We do not take insurance for counseling however, we can provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance as an out of network provider and be reimbursed per your plan details.

Office hours

Monday through Friday 8:20am-1:10pm
Appointments are avaliable at 8:20am, 9:20am, 10:20am, 11:20am, 12:20am & 1:20 am depending on avaliability. We are happy to write excuse notes for school or work if needed.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are in crisis please call 911 or go directly to your nearest hospital emergency room. We are not a crisis center.
